Tutoring at Boys Hope Girls Hope
FOUR NIGHTS A WEEK,, scholars “sharpen their pencils” and head over to our Learning Center (the multipurpose room on campus that scholars affectionately refer to as “TLC”) to log an hour or two with one of our dedicated volunteer tutors.
From studying for a Spanish exam to editing the rough draft of a term paper, our corps of tutors commit an hour or two each week in an effort to “sharpen the minds” of our scholars. Often, tutors will be paired week after week with the same scholar – giving them the opportunity to mentor a young person in a particular subject area and truly make a difference in their academic growth.
While many of our tutors are educators or college students, we are always seeking volunteers who are confident in one or more high-school level subject areas (math, science (AP physics anyone?), language arts, history, and foreign languages).
Please contact our office of Academics and College Success, (216) 441-3980 ext.114, to learn more about how you can become a volunteer tutor.
