The Day of Hope Luncheon
Entering our fourth year, The Day of Hope Luncheon has developed into a powerful opportunity to both celebrate and inspire many of Cleveland’s hardest working middle school students who have been identified by their teachers and principals as emerging leaders.
Beginning at 11:00am on October 8th, 2015, more than 250 students and teachers from 25 Northeast Ohio area schools will participate in an inspirational afternoon at the Ritz Carlton’s Silver Grille in Downtown Cleveland. Community leaders from a range of professional backgrounds offer valuable commentary on themes of inspiration, resilience, and determination for students and teachers alike. Past panelists have included: Mayor Brad Sellers, Ms. Latoyia Jones, Mr. Michael Taylor, Ms. Kimberly Vargas, Ms. Monyka Price, and Coach Gary Waters.
An Evening of Hope
The Day of Hope will continue at 6:00pm with An Evening of Hope, presented by Morgan Stanley Wealth Management with a festive cocktail reception and fall dinner held on the campus of Boys Hope Girls Hope in Garfield Heights. The evening will offer highlights from the Day of Hope Luncheon as well as honor local individuals from the community whose efforts and accomplishments exemplify the qualities we seek to instill in the young people we serve: leadership, generosity and perseverance. This year, we are delighted and honored to recognize the following individuals:
The Anne B. O’Donnell Heart of Service Award: Mr. Brian Brennan
Created in memory of lifelong educator and Boys Hope Girls Hope Executive Director Anne B. O’Donnell, recognizes an individual who has shown extraordinary commitment and service to Boys Hope Girls Hope and other youth-directed causes.
The Pillar of Hope Award: Mr. Bob Heltzel
Presented to an individual or family who has selflessly and persistently created hope and possibility in a specific area to our community through generosity, leadership and service to others.
